A whopping twelve years after her last album, Kate Bush has just released a new CD.  A double CD, no less.  It's called Aerial, and it's absolutely classic Kate Bush.  That's not to say it's any kind of retread.  On the contrary, Kate has always been an amazing innovator, a truly singular artist.  To call something "classic Kate" is to say that it is loaded with incredibly unique musical ideas.  She makes music on her own terms and does not compromise.

If you have heard her music before, then you know of her many talents.  If not, here are a couple guideposts:  This is a woman who was a major influence on the likes of Tori Amos.  (... though Kate is truly in a league of her own.)  Other fans of hers include Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, both of whom have worked with her in the past.

The current press on the album will at least hint that this album was well worth the wait.  I concur.  That's a twelve year wait, so that's certainly saying something.
