In this world of rushing here and running there, we all can use a bit of tranquility in our lives.  Where better to find a place to escape than within the sounds of a finely crafted CD full of serene melodies that can help wash away the stress of our day.

For those people that are familiar with sounds of Gregorian chants, you wouldn't think that their monophonic sound would not mix well with modern beats and melodies.  Kevin Wood's Sacred brings together a unique combination of the ancient Gregorian chant, Native American voices, world rhythms and dancing instrumental melodies.

Sacred is the second CD from Wood.  The CD has ten tracks of which all are composed and produced by Wood.  The first track, The Ritual, is the perfect opening for the listener to experience what this CD has to offer.  I found myself drawn to the third track, Solemn View.  The combination of a light rhythm, the beautiful keyboard melody, a soft female voice and the haunting chorus of a Gregorian style chant makes this track stand out as one of my favorites.  Having listened to Sacred many times since I got the CD, there isn't a track I have found that I don't like.

So for those of you like me that enjoy quiet times relaxing to a softer side of music, then this CD is definitely worth a listen.  To purchase Sacred, go to Kevin Wood's website at www.sceniclistening.com.
