Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center is pleased to present the Broadway Bound spring performance of Pandemonium! The program will be presented on Friday, May 9th, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 11th, at 7:30 p.m.
Broadway Bound is a youth vocal ensemble of the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, directed by Denise Laaveg and choreographed by Jennifer Gerczak. This lively and energetic group performs a variety of Broadway and pop music favorites, with costumes and choreography, in concerts throughout the community. This year’s cast consists of eighteen ninth- to twelfth- grade students from the Rockford area.
The program will feature performances by the entire cast from the musicals Hairspray, Pandemonium, Spring Awakening, The Will Rogers Follies, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Soloists and small ensembles will also be performing a variety of Broadway selections.
Music director Denise Laaveg says this year’s program “[has] an exciting mix of Broadway songs not often heard. These young musicians bring energy and fun to the stage.”
