On the Beet - 10/03/2005

It's been a while and we're back.  Maybe.  This one is up late due to certain forces that were out of my control.  Or maybe I was just down right lazy and I am now just getting to it.

The 2005 Trail of Screams "Nightmares... Your Fears will be Unleashed"
A light mist covers the ground. The shadows dance in the dark as you walk through the trees. You know he's out there waiting; waiting for you. It gets suddenly quiet. A chill runs down your spine. A twig snaps. You turn in the direction of the noise. It's, it's - the last thing you will ever see. > More

Robert Cray Expresses Himself to the On The Waterfront Crowd

If you had to sum up Robert Cray's performance at the 2005 On The Waterfront Festival it would be "expressive". Fortunately I have more than one word to do it in, though. Cray and his band brought their show to the Left Bank stage on Saturday September 3rd, and it was an awesome one. Seldom have I seen a band perform better than they did live.

Steve Ditzell and The Blue Lightning Band Rocks The Waterfront

Looking at Steve Ditzell's musical credits over the years would lead one to expect a strong show from him and his band. Based on the show that I saw on Saturday September 3rd at the Left Bank stage of On The Waterfront, you would still not be fully prepared. Ditzell and his cohorts (Dave Kaye on bass and Marty Binder on drums) simply tore up the stage - and they did it all musically, as there was not a lot of stage presence on show.

Take a Deep Breath...
Before we can even walk or talk, we know how to breathe efficiently and effectively.  The irony is that as we get older we lose this important skill, casting it aside like many things we deem unimportant. > More

Judas Priest will be storming into the Rockford Metro Centre on September 28th along with Anthrax. The Trail Leads Straight To Espressions Café

Nearby Poplar Grove is home to both Long Prairie Trail and Espressions Café. Although you might never have heard of either of these, you should probably check out both of them. In fact, the trail leads directly to the café. Combine the two and you have a great excursion for an autumn (or for that matter any) day.

The Fenians - A Lil' Bit of Ireland Comes To Rockford

Looking for a great, fun Celtic rocking time, then Ireland's The Fenians are just what the doctor order. Oh, wait, they're not from Ireland, but rather from Orange County, California. It's easy to believe they call the Emerald Isle home, though. They are bringing their taste of Ireland via California to this year's On The Waterfront festival.
