Stepping into La Di Da (located at 1416 North Main Street) it seems as if you are moving from one small piece of a world into another and then another. This is because the store is setup like a series of vignettes. It also means that not only will you find some interesting merchandise at the store, but going there is sort of like a mini-adventure.

Owner Jeanine Dabson describes the store as "a fun place," and even just a casual look around will confirm this. You'll find items ranging from clothing to furniture, accessories and more. All are arranged in theme based areas rather than by category, bringing a sense of discovery when you visit. This feeling of adventure is heightened by the fact that the store is constantly changing with different merchandise with every visit. Since many of the items are one of a kind, Dabson reveals that when a large item is sold the entire store often times has to be rearranged to accommodate this. That means more work for her, but a whole new experience each time you come in.

The merchandise ranges from new items to vintage and antique, but it all has a sense of style and flair. One thing is certain, you won't find another store like this one. The overall effect is something Dabson calls "Shabby Chic," but you really have to experience it for itself. The store is open from 10 - 4 Tuesday through Saturday. La Di Da has hosted special events in the past (like wine tastings) and there are plans for more, so be sure to ask if there is anything on the agenda.
