A Touch of Holiday Romance with Jim Brickman
by Gregory C. Johnson

Jim Brickman brings his Christmas Romance 2006 Tour to the Coronado Theater Thursday December 7th.  For the past ten years, Brickman has performed holiday concerts to delighted crowds across the country.  This year he will be showcasing songs from his new CDs Escape and Christmas Romance.

Brickman, with his romance style solo piano pieces and chart topping pop compositions, has been a leading influence on today's Adult Contemporary music scene.  He began his career in college writing jingles, first locally and then nationally.  In 1994, he took his talent in a different direction; composing romantic style pop music.  Since then, his career has brought him six Gold and Platinum selling albums, three number one and twelve Top 10 Adult Contemporary radio hits, and many other accolades.

His latest CD release of original music, Escape, is his first release of original material in three years.  Escape is a wonderful compilation of music styles with the beautiful arrangements and melodies that have become a Brickman trademark.  Check out the Beetcafe review here.

Christmas Romance is the latest CD release that features a number of Christmas classic songs done in the hallmark Brickman style.  The arrangements with Brickman's superb playing are a must addition to your holiday listening collection.

This is sure to be a great holiday concert that you won't want to miss.

Joining him on the tour are:

Anne Cochran

A longtime friend of Jim Brickman, she has performed with him on several tours and special events.  Her latest release, Cover Girl, features several sixties classics as well as an original cut "Make It Right."  Check out her website at http://www.annecochran.com.

David Klinkenberg

Since beginning to play the violin at age four, Klinkenberg has been influenced by worship music which carries into his musical performances today.  His latest CD, The Carol of Emmanuel, contains the holiday classics; What Child is This, Do You Hear What I Hear, Silent Night and more.  He accompanied Brickman on Escape's Winter Waltz track.

Victoria Shaw

Having penned six number one songs, Shaw is one of the most successful singer/songwriters in Nashville.  Her collaboration with Jim Brickman on "Sending You A Little Christmas" earned them a number one spot.  Her latest CD is a collection of her biggest hits with new original tunes. Jake Simpson

Simpson's high tenor voice and three octave range won him the top honors on CBS-TV's Star Search. Simpson was featured on Oprah Winfrey's 20th Anniversary show where she paired him with Stevie Wonder.
