The Unitarian Universalist Church of Rockford presents Music Sunday featuring works by Daniel Pinkham on Sunday, May 6, at 10:00 AM at The Unitarian Universalist Church (4848 Turner Street) in Rockford.
On Music Sunday, the Unicantors and guest musicians will present works by Daniel Pinkham, a prolific American composer with strong ties to Unitarian Universalism who died last December. The Unicantors will sing Pinkham's Wedding Cantata featuring vocal soloists Gale Ketteler and Jeff Gauger, as well as his setting of the text "No Man Is An Island" by John Donne, featuring Gale Ketteler, soloist. Ms. Ketteler will also sing, "To Everything There Is A Season", from Pinkham's Three Songs from Ecclesiastes. Finally, a brass ensemble will present two of Pinkham's works for brass and organ. "I very much like all the music we are doing for the occasion (Music Sunday)& which will be a glorious day of music in celebration of the life of this unique American composer" says Music Director, Tim Anderson.
The Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 4848 Turner Street in Rockford, just two blocks north of East State Street and two blocks east of Alpine Road (right next to the back entrance of Rockford College). Parking is free.
