Looking for some killer blues harp based music? If so, then you need to get to Chubby Rain on November 25th to check out Geneva Red (one of the few women playing the instrument) and The Roadsters. Red has performed with blues greats such as Bob Margolin and John Primer (both best known for their work in Muddy Waters' band.

According to their official site, "The Roadsters are a sharp and tight knit unit and are adept at providing just the type of musical backing that is sympathetic to, and propels an artist like Geneva Red to go deeper into the mood, feeling, and pulse of the song.   This communication and energy helps to make each performance of Geneva Red & The Roadsters something special.  When it's time for another member of the band to step into the spotlight, the band shifts gears smoothly so the performer can pump it up or bring it down, whatever feels good to deliver his own soulful statement." Those other musicians include Jackie 5 and Dime (guitar), Snapper Mitchum (bass) and David "Tu Sweet" Anderson (drums). Still, there is not a slouch in this band, and they are one of the most rousing blues acts on the circuit.

Looking to catch up with the group's history, their site has the following to say, "since their debut CD Alley Ways' in 1997 Geneva Red & The Roadsters have made appearances throughout the Chicagoland area performing at the Chicago Blues Festival, the Taste of Lincoln Avenue, B.L.U.E.S. Etc., Rosa's and others. As their audience has grown, Geneva Red & The Roadsters have been traveling to appear at clubs and events around the country. With three full length CDs under their belt and their new  CD "Gettin' Cocky" on Bottle Cap Records, Geneva Red and her band continue to excite audiences wherever they perform."

Well, if this sounds like your brand of blues, then by all means be in that audience. You'll certainly get entertained by a renowned and potent musical group that knows what they are doing. You'll probably also have a lot of fun. So stop by Chubby Rain House of Tunes to check them out. You know you're going to regret it if you miss it.
