Spectacular, Intense Rock and Fire Flowpoetry Ensemble StoneFloat To Ignite Minglewood Coffehouse
by Press Release
www.stonefloatrecords.com

Having played to ecstatic audiences in some of the finest music venues in Madison, WI, StoneFloat, the originators of rock and fire flowpoetry in which spoken word is woven between, into and around original rock songs, make their second appearance at Minglewood  Coffehouse  located at 317 W. Jefferson St. in Rockford, IL June 24, 2005 at 8:30 pm.

The previous appearance by StoneFloat at Minglewood this past winter was met with an extremely enthusiastic response by Rockford's fans of music and poetry.  StoneFloat explodes the notion of musical and poetic genre and combines improvised jazz jams that flow from spoken word into cowboy strumming into reggae rhythms into full on blues rock and around again.  StoneFloat features rhythm guitarist and vocalist Tate McLane, a voice both "raw and true," raves Rick's Café (South Central Wisconsin's Regional Music News) and Adam Gregory Pergament (a finalist in the 2004 Madison Area Music Awards Best Artist-Other category).  "A really great sound.  It's good to hear something new.  A great band!," declares John Urban, host of The Urban Theater music show on WISC-TV 3 and UPN-14 Madison, WI.

Unlike many bands who focus solely on their own success, StoneFloat is committed to bridging gaps between artistic communities.  All of the band members have been deeply involved as hosts in Madison's vibrant 'open-mic' scene and have dedicated themselves to creative collaboration and inclusiveness.  For this special appearance in Rockford, StoneFloat will be playing along with an artistic gel based light show.

"These guys put all of their heart, soul, and energy into their creative work.  The result of StoneFloat's fusion of genres is simultaneously commanding and relaxing.  StoneFloat is fortunate to not only have such an excellent vocalist but also musicians who are exceptionally solid on their instruments and possess a keen sense of timing and improvisational ability"  declares Rick's Café (South Central Wisconsin's Regional Music News).  "We need more rock like this! Perfect!  Very well-crafted," say reviews posted on www.garageband.com.  "...An impressive display of musicianship founded on extensive roots of hard rock and psychedelica, StoneFloat is one big progressive musical mix. (StoneFloat) is cutting out a new niche in music for lovers of poetry and rock alike," raves Emmie Independent Music Magazine.

Tickets are available at the door for $5.
