The Final Comes to Kryptonite
by Press Release
www.rockthefinal.com

The Final brings their brand of solid straight forward rock to the shores of the Rock River.  The band will be making their Rockford debut at Kryptonite on Friday April 8th.  They will be sharing the stage that evening with Salvame and Titan Moon.

So who are the Final?  They are a three piece group with Samuel Arneson on drums, Ryan Garcia on vocals and guitar, and Patrick Anderson on bass and backing vocals.  From the bands web site:

"The Bio:"

"I've tried so many times to write an appealing bio about our band. Always trying to use hot words like I'm filling out a resume or doing my best to sound witty and sell the band as a group of hipsters. Truth be told, we're really not that hip, my wit has been exhausted, and I don't want this to read like a resume.

We started slowly. It was cold outside and Sam and I were growing up and growing out of our old projects. We wanted to play straight forward, honest rock. We were tired of trying to keep up and in with peers, parties, plans, and trends. We just liked the feeling of pouring our lives into our instruments together. So we started the final, just Sam and I. We wrote songs and Ryan and Mike came and went without much happening. We played shows in Milwaukee and Madison, recorded a few songs, and that was kind of it.

Then, in April 2004, Pat started to play the bass for the final, and we collectively decided to move forward. We booked better shows, wrote better songs, became better friends, and continue to this day to press forward. The now retrospective ep, All the Things You Think You Know (with Mike on bass and Ryan W. on guitar), illustrates where the final began. Work on a second ep began in December 2004 and should be completed early in 2005.

On the strength of our passion and early recordings, we've been lucky enough to open for nationally recognized bands, including Pepper, Better Than Ezra, and Winter In Alaska. The final has entertained at such clubs as the High Noon Saloon (Madison), The Rave (Milwaukee), and Kryptonite (Rockford).

In short, the final is a three piece rock group leaning towards the indie and indie pop genres. Playing almost exclusively original material, the band is inspired by bands like nada surf, built to spill, superdrag, wilco, and radiohead. Thank you for reading this, hopefully you've found it informative. The Final hails from southern Wisconsin(rock county area)."
