Over 450 people paced the Tebala Shrine Temple Friday night March 18th to see six great high school bands compete in the 6th annual Youth Charity Jam.
The Youth Charity Jam provides a chance for aspiring young musicians the chance to play in front of a large audience in a professional setting while supporting the Gary Wilmer RAMI scholarship fund.
Bands competed in two round of auditions held at the ELB at Emmanual Lutheran Church. From the field of bands auditioning, seven groups were chosen as finalists. The groups that took the stage were:
Imaginary Heroes:
Brent Benjamin, Tommy Pilcher, Matt Miner, Dave Setiawan, Jake DeRango and Roy Leaf
Hope Despite:
Hannah Wagner, Sara Griffin, Javan Samp, David Carlson, and Jonah Samp
Inanity:
Eric August, Anthony Magaruh, Tyler Zeller, Steve Zelten, Jon Morgan, and Blake Jack.
The Son, The Anchor:
(Backed out of the competition)

Fall Asleep Sober:
Justin Ralston, Brett Ohern, Mark Stalts, Ian Hitt, and Brandon Torzeski
The Minority:
Max Anderson, Tyler Earls, and Zak Taylor
Each band put on a great performance for the crowd and had the whole house rockin'.
The prize winners were:
Hope Despite - 1st Place
They received a cash prize of $250.00 donated by Beetcafe.com, 10 hours of recording time at Darkhouse Productions, and they will be playing during the 17th Annual RAMI Awards Ceremony on Thursday April 10th.
Imaginary Heroes - 2nd Place & Derek Luttrell - 3rd Place each won $150.00 in cash donated by the RAMI Organization. |
