Fame is an effervescent high energy musical. First the hit motion picture, then the long-running television series. Now the screen sensation of the 1980's can be seen live on stage in Rockfordd, IL. Set in New York City's celebrated high School for the Performing Arts, "Fame - The Musical" is a bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as the commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor, and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today: issues of prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy and perseverance. This engaging and uplilfting productions is sure to entertain you!
Children's Theater Project has been growing for over five years and this is our fifteenth workshop. In "Fame - The Musical", over 50 children, grades 7 through 12 will be appearing in fours shows for this Youth Theater Production. The children have come together from all over the Winnebago and Boone county area to rehearse for this exciting musical theater production.
The performances will be held at the Rockford Theater at the Rockford Woman's Club located at 323 Park Ave in downtown Rockford. Show dates and times are Friday Feb 15h at 7pm, Saturday Feb 16th at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday Feb 17 at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children under 12, students with the student ID and seniors. Advance ticket sales are $1 off the door price. Group rates are available for groups fo 10 or more per show and are $6 a piece. For tickets call 815.979.2466. |
