RSO Introduces New Series for Younger Audiences
by Press Release

The RSO is pleased to announce the newly enhanced Fetelli Family Series, giving an opportunity to introduce a new generation of audience members to the RSO. The Fetelli Family Series is a sampler series of concerts for families with children ages eight and older, including two regular evening concerts – one Classics and one Pops. The RSO’s new earlier start time of 7 p.m. (and consequently an earlier finish of about 9 p.m.), makes a night at the RSO much more convenient for families.

This season’s Fetelli Family Series subscription package includes the September 29 Classics concert featuring Spanish violinist Eva León and the March 8 Pops concert featuring the dynamic string trio Time for Three.  Families also have their choice of the Nutcracker matinee or the Holiday Pops matinee. A special supplement to the program book will be available to all younger audience members. The Concert Guide for Young People will include information that will be fun, interesting, and entertaining for younger audiences. AND there’s now a special Orchestra Adventures Concert Guide on the RSO website for activities families can do to prepare for the concert.

“We see a number of younger children on concert nights,” says Langan. “We hope by creating a program for them that these children will become more engaged in the concert experience—planting the seed of a life-long love of great music.”

The RSO Family Series is available for $43 for children and $79 for adults.  Packages can be ordered by calling the RSO Box Office at 815-965-0049.

In addition, the NEW Orchestra Adventures Kids Club has been added for $5 per member. Younger Family Series ticket holders from 8-12 years old are invited to join and take advantage of special Kids Club activities including special activities and treats on concert nights, a birthday card from Steven Larsen, and more.

For additional information, visit the RSO website www.rockfordsymphony.com, or call the RSO Box Office at 815-965-0049.
