As of 4 PM on Thursday November 29th, Cronies Grill is officially in business. That’s when their ribbon cutting ceremony took place. Attended by members of the local media and chamber of commerce, it marks an official entry into that chamber.
Cronies has been open for a while, so this was mainly ceremonial. Or perhaps we can look at their last few months as a “trial run.” Either way, the event was followed up by free wings and pizza and the Dallas Cowboys / Green Bay Packers game.
Since we’ve already done a feature on Cronies I won’t go into too much detail here, except to say that their food is great and so is the service. It’s a fun place to go for dinner or a night out with your friends. Owners Tim and Anne Bent go out of their way to make sure that their place is one that will give you a quality experience every time. During the ribbon cutting Tim said that although there had been a number of businesses in the location this was going to be the last ribbon cutting there for the next thirty or forty years. That kind of attitude shows they are anxious to turn Cronies into a local institution. As well as they do what they are doing, I think they can.
You can visit Cronies at 9032 North 2nd Street in Machesney Park. It’s just North of the mall on the service road. Stop by their website www.croniesgrill.com for a look at their specials and special events or to download and print coupons. If you haven’t already been there, this is a great time for your first stop at Cronies. If you’ve already made the trip, then I’m just preaching to the choir here. It’s likely you are a regular by now.
