If you are familiar with the food at Hoffman House restaurant, then some of what you find at Firehouse Pub might remind you of that fine dining establishment. That's because since August 16th they have had something in common. That was the day that Bob Prosser, owner of Hoffman House, acquired Firehouse Pub. With it came a number of food choices and similar quality that have made Hoffman House a fine dining experience for years. The atmosphere at the Roscoe location, though is all its own. Located at 10670 Main Street, Firehouse Pub, as one might guess, has a fire-station theme. It is actually located just down the street from the real fire station, and looking at the outside of the building, one might almost mistake it for that facility.

Inside, various fire-fighting gear and other items continue the visual motif. The atmosphere makes for a fun, easygoing place to enjoy a meal or a night out for drinks. One big plus for many people is that while most dining venues that are also a bar allow smoking, Firehouse Pub offers a roomy smoke-free room. This is great for those who would like to get out to throw some darts, but are concerned about second hand smoke. The pub is open 7 days a week, and serves food from 11 AM to 10 PM (the bar is open later).

In addition to your favorite beers, wines, cocktails or non-alcoholic beverages, you can choose from a wide range of edible fare. For starters they serve up many varieties of appetizers ranging from wings (regular or boneless), mini chicken tacos to "Fire 'Works' Fries" ("…mountain of fries, smothered with melted shredded cheese, topped with black olives, tomatoes, onions, bacon bits and jalapenos, served with salad and Ranch dressing) and a number of other offerings. In addition to a large variety of burgers, an Italian sausage and "'Big' Dog", they have such sandwich choices as "Chief O Presley on Rye" (shaved ham, Swiss cheese, field greens, tomato and dijonnaise on marble rye), "The Vegetarian" (fresh field greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted red peppers, Swiss and havarti cheeses, artichoke hearts and dijonnaise on multi grain bread) and even the famous "Hoffman House Prime Rib Sandwich". They also have a selection of soups, salads and wraps for your dining enjoyment, and always provide free popcorn for snacking.

If you're looking for something a bit more than appetizers and a sandwich, Firehouse has a low carb dinner platter that includes a grilled half pound beef patty or grilled boneless chicken breast with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced hard boiled egg, celery sticks and a side salad. They also offer up a "Main Street Grill Steak" dinner that includes a tender Sirloin steak "cut fresh from Main Street Meat Company", fresh veggies and your choice of French fries or side salad and garlic toast. Firehouse also serves up a Friday night fish fry.

If you are looking for that perfect finish to your meal, Firehouse suggests either Death By Chocolate or their variety of Dessert Martini's - why not have both? If you would like more information you can call Firehouse Pub at 815-623-8389, and manager Nicole White or any of her staff will be sure to answer your questions. Better yet, just stop in and give it a try.
