"Improvidelic" Rock and Roll come to Mary's Place
by Press Release

Having played to ecstatic audiences in some of the finest music venues in and around the Midwest, StoneFloat, the originators of Improvidelic Rock and Roll in which hard soulful rock is fused together with the spoken word, will perform two full sets of music at Mary's Place in Rockford, IL on Saturday, January 28, 2006.

StoneFloat, recognized as one of The Onion's A.V. Club's favorites in a recent informal poll welds rock and spoken word to form improvidelic jams that flow from voice into tight songs made up of cowboy strumming, reggae rhythms, and full-bore blues rock.  StoneFloat features rhythm guitarist and vocalist Tate McLane, a voice both "raw and true," raves Rick's Café (South Central Wisconsin's Regional Music News) and Adam Gregory Pergament (a finalist in the 2004 Madison Area Music Awards Best Artist-Other category).  "A really great sound.  It's good to hear something new.  A great band!," declares John Urban, host of The Urban Theater music show on WISC-TV 3 and UPN-14 Madison, WI.

StoneFloat performed this past summer to raves at a festival to Benefit The Wolf River Protection Fund held in Mole Lake, WI and have just released a live album from their Archive Series on their own StoneFloat Records label.  "These guys put all of their heart, soul, and energy into their creative work.  The result of StoneFloat's fusion of genres is simultaneously commanding and relaxing.  StoneFloat is fortunate to not only have such an excellent vocalist but also musicians who are exceptionally solid on their instruments and possess a keen sense of timing and improvisational ability" declares Rick's Café (South Central Wisconsin's Regional Music News).  "We need more rock like this! Perfect!  Very well-crafted," say reviews posted on www.garageband.com.  "&An impressive display of musicianship founded on extensive roots of hard rock and psychedelia, StoneFloat is one big progressive musical mix. (StoneFloat) is cutting out a new niche in music for lovers of poetry and rock alike," raves Emmie Independent Music Magazine.
