Located in a renovated school building at 921 West State, Dot Rocket Media Training Center offers the budding recording engineer, musician or filmmaker access to a wide variety of classes and services.  Dot Rocket provides community access to a computer lab, a full recording studio and audio/video editing lab for a nominal fee.

The Dot Rocket Media Lab has computers setup with music production, audio and video editing capabilities, as well as web publishing, graphic design, and standard office software.  Dot Rocket's software titles include Cakewalk, Pro Tools and more.  Keyboards are available for connection to the computers to for use in creating tracks in addition to using sound loops.

Greg Skolaski, Dot Rocket's managing director, believes in providing a positive, inspiring, relaxed environment to help people develop their skills while using the Dot Rocket facilities.  Skolaski, who teaches audio classes part-time at RVC, has built a series of classes for the beginning and intermediate student of audio production.  Skolaski sees Dot Rocket as an intermediate stepping stone for those interested in a career in the music or video professions.  Classes are open to everyone (high school age and up) and can be set up by contacting the Dot Rocket studio.

Some of the course titles that are offered at Dot Rocket include:

Dot Rocket offers open lab time when classes are not in session.  For a very reasonable fee, you can use the Dot Rocket labs to work on your next big hit:

The Media Lab: $15.00 for four hours

The Audio/Video Editing Suite: $25.00 for four hours

The Recording Studio: $25 per hour

The front page of their website describes the Dot Rocket experience as an "atmosphere that is both stimulating and relaxing.  You'll find yourself lounging in one of our comfortable sofas, comparing notes with fellow creatives, or totally submersed in your project for hours".   I couldn't have said it better.
