A little background about the bands:
PARTICLE is considered one of today's most popular jam bands, regularly playing such marquee events as Bonnaroo and Summerfest.  They were voted "Best Jam Band" by Billboard magazine and have garnered the interest of such legendary musicians such as Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead.  Phil has recently popped up at a couple recent shows to jam with the band and Mickey Hart has actually worked with the band on a side project called "Hydra".  The people who follow this music will be flocking to this show.  More info can be found at
www.particlepeople.com.  The support acts on Friday are also top jam bands from the area.  THE MAKE BELIVE is the latest group from Rockford native Ernie Hendrickson.  His new band includes keyboardist Brian Felix who founded the jazz-jam group "OM Trio".  They are incredible!  BLACK SHEEP ARISTOCRATS are a new band from Rockford that has no boundries.  They play a very "Steely Dan-ish" style of jazz fusion.  No singer needed!  STENDEK has become a favorite around the country as a one-man loop artist band.   He will freak you out if you haven't seen him before.  He plays drums, percussion, guitar, keys, various wind instruments, bass and anything else he can get his hands on.  oh, and he sings!  Should be one of our best nights for Jam Music.

NASHVILLE PUSSY is one roudy-ass band.  They are fst, loud and proud.  Southern proud.  They just returned from a tour of Europe with "Reverend Horton Heat" and we have them for thier first live appearance back in the U.S.  We expect a really good show.  For more info go to
www.nashvillepussy.com.  THE HEAVILS need no itroduction in Rockford.  They blazed thier own trail to a record deal with Metal Blade Records and have put out two solid CDs and toured on parts of the jagger.  There's not too many bands that will "fit" together with NP, but THE HEAVILS are a natural one. For more info go to www.theheavils.com.  THE LAST VEGAS have gained a huge following in the tough Chicago market.  They regulary play the Metro and Double Door and will bring their guitar-driving sound to Block 5.  More info at www.thelastvegas.com.  THE SAPS are another Chicago band, with a Rockford native (Brett Witacker), that combine the mixture of rock and southern twang to form a unique sound.  Great songs and a great live show.  An Excellent way to kick off a rowdy night of music.  More info at www.thesaps.com.  Look out Rockford!
