36th Annual Young at Heart Festival Kicks Off Summer - Friday, May 25 through Monday, May 28

For the past 36 years, the Young at Heart Festival - held annually on Memorial Day weekend - has kicked off summer in the Rockford region with family fun, great music, fireworks, fishing and the Young at Heart pageant. This year, headlining bands include national country stars Little Texas, Silver Bullet and the Blooze Brothers. Plus, for the first time, children 12 and under are admitted free. 
 
Those who purchase buttons in advance save $2 over gate prices, and buttons are available at outlets all over the region (visit www.youngatheartfestival.com for locations). Buttons are good for all four days of the festival and cost $6 in advance or $8 at the gate. Children 12 and under are FREE. Family Fun Packs - 4 buttons and 4 coupons good for $2 off ride wristbands - also are available for $24 (a $32 value).

This family-friendly event, currently in its 36th year, features carnival rides, a fishing derby, the Young at Heart pageant, a fireworks spectacular, a wide variety of food and crowd-pleasing music. This year, headlining bands Silver Bullet, Little Texas and Blooze Brothers will provide entertainment.
