Sister Bernie's Bingo Bash is an original comedy about the hard-luck lives of a priest and two nuns who lost their parish because of an unfortunate mishap with a broken bingo board. With hope of making enough money to reopen their church, this traveling trio takes their bingo game across the USA. Back in Rockford by popular demand, Father Martini, Sister Bernie and Sister Cherisse make a stop at The New American Theater. During the Bingo Bash, audience members will partake in seven bingo games (according to the seven deadly sins), inspiring songs, spiritual insight, wacky prizes and some healthy competition! Give 'em a dime and this traveling trio just may save your soul!
Artistic Director Tony Vezner is pleased to be bringing this raucous comedy to Rockford, "It's just a hilarious show. It doesn't matter if you're catholic or not, this play is a stitch. The characters are just so fun and lively. Like Tony 'n Tina's Wedding, it's improvised and interactive comedy for the audience. So you get to be part of the fun! You get to play bingo (for small - not cash - prizes), join in the songs and all of the activities."
