Weird World of Wormwood - Film Festival Mark III
by Press Release

Tired of typical formula Hollywood garbage insulting your intelligence at the multiplexes? Relax, bunky...relief is at hand. Wormwood Chronicles webzine (www.wormwoodchronicles.com) is proud to present the third edition of the Weird World of Wormwood Film Festival. Ten weeks of the world's most unusual movies for the discerning cinema-goer! The best part is...the movies are absolutely FREE!

The Festival will kick off on Sunday March 12 and continue on every Sunday night with the exception of April 9 until May 21st.

The venue will be Rockford's oldest and funkiest bar, MARY'S PLACE, located in the heart of the River District at 602 N. Madison Street. Mary's has got a great giant screen TV with awesome sound as well as a cool atmosphere and the cheapest beer around. Combined with the weirdest movies ever made and no admission, how can you beat it?

There will be a cartoon or short subject before each movie as well as a brief introduction. Each presentation will start at 7:00 P.M. sharp!

THE SCHEDULE!

MARCH 12: "Satan's Cheerleaders"...insane 70's drive-in bedlam as young pom-pom girls fall prey to rural Satanists! Starring Yvonne DeCarlo and John Carradine!

MARCH 19: "The Deathless Devil"...Ever seen a Turkish superhero movie? Here's your chance, as the masked Copperhead battles Dr. Satan and his killer robot! Subtitled madness!

MARCH 26: "High School Confidential"...The horrors of a teenage dope ring are exposed in this 50's juvenile delinquency classic starring Russ Tamblyn, Michael Landon and featuring music by Jerry Lee Lewis!

APRIL 2: "Incubus"...Surreal and haunting horror tale of demonic temptation starring William Shatner and featuring dialogue entirely in Esperanto! Shown with subtitles. One of the most unusual movies ever made!

APRIL 9: We take a week off for primetime baseball! Enjoy the Cubbies at Mary's Place!

APRIL 16: "El Campeones Justicieros"...Spend Easter with Wormwood as masked Mexican wrestlers battle evil superpowered midgets in this looney epic! No subtitles, but a 3 year old could follow this plot! Starring Blue Demon and Mil Mascaras!

APRIL 23: "The Sadist"...bone-chilling terror as a bloodthirsty killer and his teenage slut torment three teachers in an abandoned junkyard. Starring the immortal Arch Hall Jr in the title role!

APRIL 30: "Companeros"...probably the whackiest spaghetti Western ever made. Starring Franco Nero as a Swede (?) and Jack Palance as a wooden-handed killer who feeds his victims to a pet hawk named America!

MAY 7: "The Legend of Boggy Creek"...funky 70's docu-drama tells about the hunt for a mysterious swamp monster in Arkansas. You'll never look at an outhouse the same way again!

MAY 14: "One Million B.C."...classic prehistoric adventure starring awesome Raquel Welch as the sexiest cave babe ever and featuring the special effects of Ray Harryhausen!

MAY 21: "An Evening With Kolchak"...we wrap things up with two episodes of the legendary 70's "Night Stalker" series starring Darren McGavin. We'll be showing "The Spanish Moss Murders" and "Horror in the Heights".
