41st Annual Charlotte's Web Series Kicks Off with Sarah McQuaid,
by Press Release
The Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center kicks off the 41st annual Charlotte’s Web Concert Series with guitarist/vocalist Sarah McQuaid on Friday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Emerson House, 420 North Main Street in Rockford.
Sarah McQuaid is a gifted and captivating guitarist and vocalist. She is both a song crafter and song collector, equally at home with traditional Irish and Appalachian folk songs, Elizabethan ballads and 1930s jazz numbers. Her music is a reflection of her own eclectic background: born in Spain, raised in Chicago and currently lives in rural England. While genre, era and geography of her songs may change, at their core is a musician who has soaked it all in and eloquently expresses the stories she’s gathered.
Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for students.
Since 1884, the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center has been a source of exciting, personal, interactive music experiences for the residents of Northern Illinois. Mendelssohn PAC, a non-profit organization located at 415 North Church Street in Rockford, serves the community with a wide range of concerts, youth music programs and performing ensembles for all ages. Charlotte’s Web for the Performing Arts became a division of the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center in 2012. The Rock Valley Children’s Choir and Kantorei, the Singing Boys of Rockford are Mendelssohn PAC’s partners in residence. www.mendelssohnpac.org
