Registration And Open House For NFL Flag Football, NFL Cheer

Rockford Park District will hold a registration open house event for the NFL Flag Football, NFL Cheer Rockford, and Jr. NFL Flag Mini-Camp fall youth programs on Saturday, August 28, noon-1:30 p.m. at Carlson Ice Arena, 4150 N. Perryville Rd. (at E. Riverside Blvd.), Loves Park. Registration is also open now online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org (click Register Now) and at both Park District Customer Service locations: Webbs Norman Center downtown at 401 W. State St., Rockford, and at Carlson Ice Arena.
The flag football program for players ages 5-8, 9-11, and 12-14 runs Saturdays September 11-October 30, 2010 at Brown Park in northwest Rockford; the season consists of six games plus playoffs. All participants will receive an official NFL Flag Football jersey, trophy, and NFL certificate. The registration fee is $85 ($95 non-resident); returning participant fee is $50 ($55 non-resident).
The NFL Cheer Rockford program is for girls ages 5-14, and runs August 23-October 30, 2010; practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays (first week, Monday-Thursday), and squads will cheer at Saturday NFL Flag Football games. There are no tryouts; squads will be of varying abilities, so all participants will cheer. Fees range from $85 to $175, depending on residency and previous participation.
At the August 28 registration event, registrations will also be taken for the Junior NFL Flag Mini-Camp, a non-contact fundamental camp for children ages 3-5 to progressively improve beginning skill levels and learn sportsmanship and teamwork, scheduled for September 11-October 2 at Brown Park. The fee for the Mini-Camp is $35.00 ($40.00 non-resident).
