Event: Friends of Booker Washington Community Center sponsors a Tweentivity Kick-Off Fun for All Night (a prelude to Rec-Night).

Mission: To promote positive, safe and structured social activities for adolescents between the ages of 11 – 15 years old that encourages physical movement (keeping in-line with Michelle Obama’s Initiative to reduce the obesity rate in our children).
Program:
A Fun for All Night will be held for children and their families to celebrate Tweentivity’s Kick-off and to encourage their participation in Rec-Night on Fridays, which will begin July 30 through September 3, 2010. (Flyers will be distributed to families in the community, churches and to participants in Booker’s current programs).
Kick-Off Activities: Will include food – grilled hotdogs, chips, popcorn and juice & water. Entertainment/activities – music, games and informational booths.
Rec-Night Program Activities: Cooking classes, games, book discussions, genealogy workshops, movies, dancing, sports/other outdoor physical activities.
