Adapted Dance Class for the Physical Disabled

Rockford Dance Company will be introducing a special eight week session for teens and adults with physical disabilities to explore dance movements and the creation of an “Adapted Dance Company”. The eight week session will explore three different genres of dance, ballet, modern, and jazz. Each class will conclude with a discussion to determine participant’s likes and dislikes and future interest. “This is an experimental program for both the participants and Rockford Dance Company” explain School Director, Margaret Rennerfeldt. “We have done research on similar programs and believe that such programming would benefit our community and RDC’s goal to reach out to under served populations.”
Classes will begin Tuesday, June 8 at the Rockford Dance Company at 5:30pm. Interested participants, age 14 or older can call 815-963-3341 to register. Interested parties who are unable to schedule this class should also communicate with our office their interest.
This program has been made possible through a grant from the Rockford Park District.
