Rockford Symphony Orchestra Partners with Rockford Art Museum for SoundBites

The Rockford Symphony Orchestra announces the final SoundBites of the RSO’s 75th Anniversary Season. SoundBites, a fresh and relaxing way to prepare for the RSO concert experience, is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23. The final program of this season’s SoundBites RSO Lunchtime Series will be held at the Rockford Art Museum, Riverfront Museum Park, 711 North Main St. Please note this CHANGE of location from previous SoundBites.
The RSO’s final Classics Series concert for the 2009-10 Season is Pictures at an Exhibition and features a presentation of photographs celebrating Rockford projected above the orchestra. These images were taken by Rockford photographers Nels Akerlund, Jeffrey Anderson, Pablo Korona, Bradley Nordlof, Valerie Olafson, Steve Pitkin, Sherry Pritz, and Hans Rupert, as well as images made available through the Rockford Park District and the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Riverdistrict Association.
The Rockford Art Museum presents an exhibition also titled Pictures at an Exhibition in conjunction with the concert. The exhibition features photographers participating in the presentation at the concert.
SoundBites on April 23 begins with a Gallery Walk in Anderson Gallery at RAM from12:00-12:30 p.m. The walk will be led by photographer Sherry Pritz and Valerie Olafson. Immediately following the gallery walk, RSO Music Director Steven Larsen will lead the SoundBites discussion from 12:30-1:15 p.m. on the music and the photo-choreography.
