Pec Playhouse Theatre presents a melodrama - Love Rides the Rails
by Press Release
Pec Playhouse Theatre in Pecatonica is proud to announce its annual high school production, Love Rides the Rails or Will the Mail Train Run Tonight? This light-hearted, rip-roarin’ Ol’ West “meller-dramer” will be sure to entertain you. Do the good guys always win? Does love really conquer all? Come cheer on the hero and boo and hiss at the villain.
Director Glen Wiegert, long-time volunteer for Pec Playhouse Theatre, is directing this melodrama which includes a cast of 23 Pecatonica and Winnebago High School students.
The annual high school production is always a special occasion because of PPT’s history. Pec Playhouse Theatre was formed in 1991 by a group of Pecatonica High School students and graduates who sought theatre experience beyond high school. With the help of supportive parents and community members, the students organized and produced PPT’s very first show, Out of the Frying Pan, funded entirely by membership dues and proceeds from a car wash. The high school show tradition continues with each season and is highly celebrated as a unique opportunity for area students.
Love Rides the Rails was selected as part of our 20th season celebration and was originally performed in 2003.
Performances are Fridays through Sundays, April 16-25, with show times at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2pm on Sundays. Tickets are on sale now, and are $10 for all seats. All shows will be performed at Pec Playhouse Theatre at 314 Main Street in Pecatonica, IL. Additional information can be found on their website at www.pecplayhouse.org or by calling the Box Office at 815-239-1210.
