Four Regional Acts Set to Fire Up the Crowd in Dekalb

by Press Release

April 2nd will be a date for metal fans in the stateline area not to miss. That’s when four of the best regional metal acts will grace the stage of Otto’s in Dekalb, Illinois.  29 Needles will be headlining with War Mouth, Witch Beulah and Mechina supporting them.

29 Needles (myspace.com/twentynineneedlesmusic) are hometown talent, hailing from Dekalb. The group played their first gig in 2007 – a battle of the bands. As first gigs go, this one was definitely special because the outfit (on their debut) defeated all the other bands on the bill winning the battle. That’s definitely a big achievement for the first time hitting the stage together. Since then the group has shared the stage with such big name acts as Dope, Bobaflex, Adema, Scum of the Earth, Rikets, Ekotren, End of the Rope, Powerman 5000, Nonpoint, Dirge Within, Soil, and Till We Die. The band is currently recording their first full length album for release later this year (a follow up to their EP released last year.

Keeping the crowd entertained just before 29 Needles hits the stage will be Warmouth  (myspace.com/warmouth). The Rockford, Illinois based outfit has been tearing up stages for seven years now. Over the course of that time they have been on bills with such big names as Lamb of God, Static X, and Motorhead. They are sure to have the fans on their feet and ready for 29 Needles.

Another Rockford band, Witch Beulah (myspace.com/witchbeulah) will be holding down the slot just before Warmouth. The band have a theatrical approach to metal and always get the crowd fired up and rocking. They have played shows with acts like Static X, Shadows Fall and more.

Chicago’s Mechina (myspace.com/mechina) will be opening the set. With a mixture of precision inspired metal, symphonic melodies, creative and unorthodox lyrical content, and a plethora of intriguing yet intense atmospheres, Mechina has created a unique and unmatched presence.

Otto’s is located at 188 E. Lincoln Highway in Dekalb, Illinois. The show is 21 and over only and starts at 8 PM. Tickets are available now for Otto’s website (ottosdekalb.com) for just seven dollars. With these four bands on the bill that’s a lot of face melting metal for not a lot of money.
