Thrice to Play Chubby Rain on November 17th

by Press Release

Thrice plays Chubby Rain on November 17, supporting their new album Beggars.

The Orange County-based group has just released their critically acclaimed Beggars, the follow-up to their ambitious 4-EP series The Alchemy Index

Among the other glowingly positive reviews, Alternative Press grades the new album 4.5/5, explaining, "THRICE have achieved that rare feat of actually progressing and maturing, while avoiding the navel-gazing introspection so many outfits fall into."

Outburn boast that it brings, "two of the most beautiful songs you'll hear this year."

With Beggars, Thrice took the numerous lessons they learned from the writing, recording, and production of The Alchemy Index, and funneled them into their jam sessions, letting each member contribute their ideas to the round table as they came up.  In the studio, Thrice once again self-recorded and self-produced their opus with guitarist Teppei Teranishi at the helm.  With very few overdubs and an intentional lack of synths and extraneous noises this time around, they've captured a more live and raw feel with the release, which results in a more cohesive listening experience.

Of the title and inspiration behind Thrice's new album Beggars, vocalist Dustin Kensrue explains:

"I think we are at most times deluded in thinking that we are totally responsible for our circumstances, but in the end almost everything is beyond our control to a high degree and we can't even be sure we will wake up tomorrow.  Whether you believe that God created you for a purpose, or that the world is governed by blind chance, everything in life is a gift at its core; we are beggars all."

Tickets are $20 and available online at http://www.yourticketstand.com.
