Join Music Director Steven Larsen and the Rockford Symphony Orchestra for spine-tingling fun with “Reel” Chillers and Music that Goes Bump in the Night at the "Halloween Fright Night" opening performance of the Rockford Health System Pops Series on Saturday, October 24 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center.  This concert is graciously sponsored by Lexus of Rockford.

The RSO will perform theme music from popular “scary” movies such as Psycho, King Kong, Vertigo, and Ghostbusters, plus more spooky tunes including Robert Wendel’s “Trick or Treat” and “Ride of the Headless Horseman”, Cy Coleman’s “Witchcraft”, and the late Michael Jackson’s wildly popular “Thriller.”  The orchestra will be dressed in costume and the audience is invited to wear costumes as well.

Club RSO is Rockford's newest event for the people in their 20s, 30s, & 40s. Hosted by the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Club RSO offers a night of sophisticated fun at the Coronado Theatre.  Club RSO's first event is at the October 24 Pops Concert.  For just $25, this exclusive Club RSO special offer includes a concert ticket in the balcony and a Post-Concert Party on stage. Haunted backstage tours, plus other "treats" are sure to make for a fun evening.

Under the artistic leadership of Music Director Steven Larsen, the Rockford Symphony Orchestra is a leading arts organization in the Rockford Region and the third largest symphony orchestra in the state of Illinois.  The RSO is made up of 85 professional musicians who perform 17 concerts per year--including classics, pops, ballet, and opera--for an estimated annual audience of 30,000.  The RSO was named the 2007 Orchestra of the Year for Illinois and celebrates its 75th anniversary during the 2009/10 season.
