Edgebrook is pleased to announce the 4^th Annual Festival of Fantasy Children’s Halloween parade & costume contest that will take place at Edgebrook on Saturday, October 24^th 2009 from 12pm to 4pm.

 

Since its beginning in 2006, the festival has become a popular event that makes Halloween a kids’ holiday once again. This event is FREE to the public! The purpose of Festival of Fantasy is to give kids control over their own creative expression and a sense of creative empowerment through that expression.

 

Children between the ages of infant to twelve years old are eligible. Treat bags will be handed out to the first five hundred children to register. Registration will take place on the day of the event in the Edgebrook courtyard. Parents of children eligible for the parade can get in on the fun by dressing up and marching with their children. They will be eligible to win a one month FREE pass to the YMCA  in the “Adams Family” Division. Children will be divided into five divisions; Infant to age 4 – Baby Boos, 5 to 6 – Groovy Goblins, 7 to 8 – Oh La La Owls, 9 to 10 – Super Spookys, and 11 to 12 – Magnificent Monsters! Each age division will be hosted by one of Rockford’s sports or retail mascots! Prizes will be given in each age category and one grand prize of an age and gender appropriate bicycle will be awarded to the best costume of all! Homemade costumes are preferred, but not required!
