Fight like a Girl - Rockford Rage Women’s Roller Derby Annual Mixer Bout

Make Sweetest Day, October 17, 2009, one to remember by walking alongside the ladies of the Rage in their fourth year of the Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk...Then spend the evening with the Rage. The will ladies strap on their skates to form the Lovers and the Fighters in the “Fight like a Girl” roller derby bout. A portion of the bout proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk.
 
Doors open at 6pm and derby action begins at 7pm at the Indoor Sports Center, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd, Loves Park, IL.  Tickets can be purchased at the ISC, The Station, and Culture Shock or get your tickets online at Brown Paper Tickets (event #78818). Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.  Kids age 5-13 are $5 and children under 5 are free. Special group rates are available in advance for groups of 10 or more.  Groups can order tickets online with the discount code of Rage09, can obtain tickets at all ticket locations, through rockfordrage@gmail.com and from skaters.  Group ticket rates will not be available at the bout.

The Rockford Rage Women’s Roller Derby is Rockford’s first, and only, all-female flat track roller derby league.  The organization was formed in the summer of 2006 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive female interaction and athleticism and helping the community through charitable contributions, fundraisers and benefits. The league is run by the skaters, referees and other support staff, all who are volunteers within the organization.
