The Rockford Park District has two great attractions for a exploring Rockford by water and rail; The Forest City Queen and Trolley Car 36.

The Forest City Queen takes you up the Rock River for a view of the city you can't get anywhere else.  The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.  You are taken on a relaxing ride up the Rock River to Shorewood Park in Loves Park and back.  You can view some of the beautiful homes and historic sites along the Rock River that you can't see from land.  The Captain and First Mate will tell you about some of the history of places along the river during your trip.

Trolley Car 36 takes you from the station in Riverview Park north up to Symbol in Sinnissippi Gardens.  The Trolley takes you along the tracks in the middle of Madison Street until you get to the YMCA where the tracks go along the bike path.  You get to stop and check out the lagoon and greenhouse before continuing on the trip to Symbol and than back to the station.  The Motorman and Conductor will give you a history of the sites along the tracks during the ride.

The Forest City Queen and Trolley Car 36 depart from Riverview Park at 324 Madison Street in downtown Rockford.  Tickets are available for both excursions that the Trolley Station.
