This year’s Young At Heart Festival will use Facebook and Twitter to offer festival-goers a more enriched experience.

Becoming a fan of Young At Heart Festival on Facebook and/or following it on Twitter will allow people in the area to become more engaged with the event. Through Facebook and Twitter, the Parks Chamber and other Young At Heart Sponsors will offer a place to share experiences and get updates, event information, band information, and much more. In the future, the Parks Chamber will utilize this technology to enhance the Young At Heart Festival by engaging the surrounding communities.

Social Media is new to us this year, but it will really help people take advantage of the festivities and share their experiences with others,” stated Diana Johnson, Executive Director of the Parks Chamber. “This enables us to have a conversation with the community, who are the most important part of what we are doing.”

The festival features carnival rides, a fishing derby, the Young at heart pageant, a fireworks spectacular, a parade, a wide variety of food, beer garden, and crowd-pleasing music. Entrance to the festival costs $6 in advance and $8 at the door for a button which is valid for all 4 days (Friday, May 22, to Monday, May 25), and kids 8 and under are free!
