Paul Hare To Release U.S. Exodus

by Press Release

CD Is Debut For This Veteran Rocker

April 22nd, 2009, Rockford, IL – Singer Songwriter Paul Hare is set to release his solo debut on May 12th. U.S. Exodus is a ten song album of songs that work together to tell a tale. It hearkens back to the days when the lyrics were as important (or perhaps more so) as the music.

They say a man is the sum of all his experiences, but when that man is a musician he tends to be a sum of all his influences. That makes Paul Hare an interesting musical force and one that’s hard to categorize. Perhaps his first influences were the Sun Studios records, a leaning he brought with him when his parents moved him from the south at a young age.

Hare is driven by and drawn to lyrically driven music and it is certainly reflected in his personal musical vision. While he fronted a power pop/alternative rock group called “11th Hour Reprieve,” Hare’s solo music is more in keeping with the singer songwriter style of music. It’s not that far removed from that Sun Records stuff, but you’ll also hear bits of The Beatles, The Stones and the Clash.

Hare may be releasing his first solo album with this concept disc, but this is a musician who has been honing his art for a very long time. In fact, his first public performance was in high school when presented with a required oral assignment Hare and a group of cohorts brought in their guitars and proceeded to deliver it in song. Music is certainly a big part of Hare’s life and experience. More importantly, perhaps, Hare has lived a full life and learned how to express real life in his words and vocal delivery. It’s this sort of honesty that has to be earned. Paul Hare has earned it.

The critics are already talking. Greg Johnson of Beet Café (beetcafe.com) said, “Paul Hare intertwines his acoustic rock compositions with an occasional touch of a down home country sound. Hare creates a vivid musical image with his lyrics, acoustic based melodies and emotional vocal style that is sure to please those lovers of acoustic guitar driven songs.”

Dr. Abner Mality of Wormwood Chronicles (wormwoodchronicles.com) gave this praise: “Paul's music has passion to spare. The guy is an awesome lyricist, coming up with words that can be wistful, wry, bitter, funny and depressing. His voice has the kind of rough timbre to handle those lyrics perfectly. “
