Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that the final Music on Main concert of the season will be held Tuesday, April 14th with a performance by the Art Song Project.  The concert will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center.

Music on Main is a new concert series with a casual atmosphere and brief, intimate musical performances.  Admission is free.  Attendees may bring a household cleaning product or small donation to support The Carpenter’s Place of Rockford.  Complimentary wine and cheese will be served.

The Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center’s Art Song Project is dedicated to the enjoyment and appreciation of art songs, which are created for performance in their own right and are usually performed with a piano accompaniment.  Art songs are generally credited to a particular composer and require voice training for acceptable performances.
