Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that the Mendelssohn Chorale will be holding auditions for section leaders on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center.

Three section leaders for each of the soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections will be chosen.  Audition requirements are two prepared contrasting musical selections, a resume, and a demonstration of sight-reading.  An accompanist will be provided.  A stipend is provided for section leaders.

Founded in 1975, the Mendelssohn Chorale is composed of lovers of choral music from the greater Rockford area and has been directed by Marti Bein for twelve years.  For the past seven seasons the Chorale has been part of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra’s concert season.
