Local Skaters Place at Competition

Several local figure skaters placed in the 4th annual Shamrock Open skating competition on March 15 at Rockford Park District's Carlson Ice Arena in Loves Park. The first place skaters include: Sydney Kampmier, Sowmya Monroe , Karlie Taylor, Isabella West, Carli Petrie, Ella Ruder, Sydnie Beksel, Marisa Banz, and Andrea Campos. Second place skaters include: Natasha Ferrero, Victoria Horton, Benjamin Kies, Lauren Bonavia, Ella Ruder, Faith Sutton, Elyse Knoll, Kate Franzen, and Elizabeth Rieger.
Third place skaters include: Marisa Banz, Karlie Taylor, Alexa Norvell, Isabella West, Lauren Bonavia, Hannah Taylor, Valerie Parker, Katelyn Hyser, Natasha Ferrero, and Raven Risseeuw. Other local skaters that placed were: Jessica Barlow, Brianna Pifer, Francesca Butera, Morgan Carlson, Ryan Pickerill, Kate Ruder, Katelyn Hyser, Lauren Bear, Emily Johnson, Megan Elsbree, Haley Sommer, and Florencia Lowenthal. Local skaters represented Figure Skating Club of Rockford, Fine Lines, Northern Illinois Skating Club, and the Rockford Park District. The following coaches had students in the events: Audra Abernethy Hinds, Brigitte Carlson Roquet, Jenn Caron, Char Guarino, Tarah Lanier, Patti Replogle, Kathy Torrence, and Carol Ueck.
