Dianogah To Perform At The House Cafe in Dekalb on April 4th

Kickstand Productions is pleased to announce indie / post-rock pioneers DIANOGAH at The House Café in DeKalb on Sat. Apr. 4th 2009 at 8pm. This is the first time this incredible band has been featured in DeKalb and promises to be a night to remember. Tickets will be $8 for this all ages event and are available online at www.thehousecafe.net or at the door the day of the show.

Dianogah is a Chicago, Illinois based indie rock outfit formed in 1995, noted for their use of two bass guitars. Members include Kip McCabe, Jay Ryan (ex- Hubcap) and Jason Harvey. Dianogah named their band after the garbage compactor monster (the Dianoga) in the 1977 motion picture Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.” They have released four full length albums and countless singles since their inception and have collaborated with: Andrew Bird, Steve Albini, Producer John McEntire (of The Sea and Cake and Tortoise),Rachel Grimes (of Rachel's) and John Upchurch of Coctails. Dianogah are touring in support of their latest record, 2008’ Qhnnnl.

Dianogah band member Jay Ryan, a celebrated concert poster artist, will have an exhibit up in the Northern Illinois University Art Museum at Altgeld Hall from March 24th to May 9th. Works will include hand-screened posters produced by Jay and his company, The Bird Machine (www.thebirdmachine.com). Additionally, Jay Ryan will host a workshop at the NIU School of Art from April 3-7, with a public lecture at 5pm on Monday, April 6 in rm 100 of Jack Arends Hall.
