Little Women - The Broadway Musical

Annex Theatre Company will present four performances of Little Women - The Broadway Musical, at the Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, Little Women focuses on the four March sisters - feisty, tomboyish, aspiring author Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth - and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, Massachusetts while the family patriarch is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio.
The Annex musical production is the same version that was performed on Broadway in 2005, featuring Sutton Foster as Jo March and Maureen McGovern as Marmee.
Performances are Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 pm; Friday, April 3 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, April 4 at 1:00 pm; and Sunday, April 5 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $5 for children and students, $10 for adults, available at the door one hour prior to curtain. The production features the talents of experienced actors from several high schools and colleges in the northern Illinois area.
