If you are looking for retro items to wear or to decorate your house, Lula's Vintage Boutique should be on your shopping map. The store is located in downtown Rockford at 221 East State Street, and has a virtual cornucopia of vintage items for sale. According to owners Luane Dean and Lauretta Rundgren, "we have it all." While that might seem a broad statement, if you take the time to look around (and with as much merchandise as they have in stock, you should set aside a lot of time), you will probably agree.

The store has a wealth of wardrobe choices that will make a complete look or you can grab one or two pieces to accent more modern attire to create something uniquely "you". They say they have everything in stock from Victorian to the '80's, and from what I can see, I believe them. They also "incorporate new stuff with the old." The store has been at this location for a year and a half, and is certainly a very interesting treasure trove of goods.

The ladies of Lula's even make an appearance in the fourth of July parade dressed in vintage clothing. You can't argue with that form of representation. So, whether you are looking for something specific, or just want to let the mood grab you, stop into Lula's. You'll find it to be a refreshing and exciting blast from the past. There hours vary by the season, so it might be a good idea to call (815-962-LULA [5852]).
